The 2023 Declaration Day ceremony is organized by the Darien Monuments and Ceremonies Commission.
The ceremony will begin at 9:30 am, July 4, 2023, in the Darien High School Courtyard, immediately preceding the Push-n-Pull Parade (sponsored by the Darien VFW) which steps off from DHS at 10:30 am.
This twenty-five-minute event will include selected readings from the Declaration of Independence, recognition of Darien students currently attending military academies, along with university ROTC programs. The remembrance and naming of Revolutionary War soldiers from what is now Darien, formerly Middlesex Parish, will be observed. Uplifting and Patriotic music will be played for all to enjoy.
Seating will be provided for any and all!
